Planning Commission – April Meeting Date Change
The City of Houghton Planning Commission will hold their April meeting on: Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. There will not be a meeting
Houghton Wins Community Excellence Award
We Won! The City of Houghton has won the Michigan Municipal League’s Community Excellence Award for 2024. The award nominations celebrate and honor innovative placemaking
Meetings: The Houghton City Council meets at 5:30 p.m. on the Second and Fourth Wednesdays of every month. Agendas and agenda packets for each meeting will be placed in the Searchable Document Center of the website on the Monday before the meeting by 5:00 p.m.
Correspondence to be presented to the Council at the meeting must be provided to the Clerk by 4:00 pm on meeting day. Correspondence must state the name of who is submitting it. Correspondence will be read at the meeting. Each item of correspondence will be read up to 5 minutes.

Rules of Procedure
Council meetings are open to the public. The Mayor presides over the meeting. The agenda is set prior to each meeting. Each meeting includes opportunity for members of the public to address the Council on any subject.Â
