Public Hearing for Water Related Infrastructure Grant – November 29 at 5:30 pm

The City of Houghton will conduct a closeout public hearing on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. at 616 Shelden Avenue, Houghton for the purpose of affording citizens an opportunity to submit comments and receive a final report on the completion of the Water Related Infrastructure Program CDBG grant.

 

The CDBG grant provided funding to assist in the replacement of aging water mains, sanitary sewer mains, and manholes on Prospect Street and a portion of Baraga Avenue.  The total project cost was $1,940,748 with CDBG providing funding of $1,541,823 and the City of Houghton providing funding of $398,925.

 

The CDBG project benefitted at least 51% low to moderate income persons.  No persons were displaced as a result of the project.

 

Interested parties are invited to comment on the project in person at the public hearing or in writing through November 29th.  Written comments can be sent to Clerk, City of Houghton, P.O.
