The Houghton City Council is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the council for the remaining term through November 3, 2026.ย Section 2.3 of the Houghton City Charter states the qualifications are โany qualified voter of the city 18 years of age, or older, and a continuous resident of the City of Houghton for 12 months and not be in default theretoโ.ย A letter of interest and application should be sent to the City Manager: City of Houghton, PO Box 606, Houghton, MI, 49931, or emailed to eric@cityofhoughton.com with the words โcouncil positionโ on the subject line.
